My Goal Reflection for semester two
My goals for semester two was to make my handwriting neater in all of my books, improve my reading stamina at least up to 45 minuets, and improve my cooperation skills.
I did really well with my hand writing. I thought that my handwriting in the past was not so good because I was sometimes too much in a hurry to go to recess and I was sometimes not writing on the right line. My steps for completing this goal was to slow down, take my time, form letters correctly, and to write on the line. After using all these comments on my writing I was able to make my writing neater in all of my books.
I also thought that I did good with my reading stamina because I am now reading from a range of 40-50 minuets and sometimes 1 hour. In the past I personally thought that my reading stamina was not good and right on the line of 30 minuets is because I did not have a cozy spot to read in, the book that I picked was not just right for me, I did not arrange a time to read, and I did not have an enjoyable book to read. In the second semester I did find a cozy spot to read in my house, I found some books that were interesting and were suitable for me, and I did arrange some time for me to read in my house when ever I was free.
I do not think that I am doing well with group cooperation because I am not letting people share their ideas, I sometimes interrupt them while they are sharing to share my ideas, I did not really listen to other peoples ideas, and I sometimes do the work for them instead of teaching them. I think that next year in sixth grade I should at least do the opposite of 1 thing on that list of improvements that I should have made in the beginning of semester two to help me with my cooperation skills.
The First Time I Rode A Skateboard
The first time I skated I fell off because I was going too fast and I wasn’t able to maintain my balance. After trying to ride my skateboard 3-4 times I was able to ride the skateboard but only on flat pavement and at a slower speed. I also learned how to perform several tricks some that involve gong into the air or going on less than 4 wheels. through practice and a lot of falls I finally started to feel comfortable with riding a skateboard. I quit skateboarding when I came to Bangkok because the pavement was very bumpy and made out of bricks. I also stopped skating when I got to Bangkok because I got into floor hockey and wasn’t able to skateboard anymore.
A Culture I Know
In the USA, we have a tradition that applys with hanging the flag up. When it’s night you have to shine a light under it, when it rains you have to put it in the shade, and when the flag touches the ground you have to cut out the stars and then you have to burn it. There are also other traditions for the American flag like folding it in a triangle or having to hang it on the right side of your house if you are not using a pole. There is lots of other stuff about the American flag but it would take too much time.
Reflection On Semester Two
From the beginning of the year of semester 2 I think that I’ve made a big improvement because I’m getting better grades, I was able to finish my student led conference voice thread, and I am Doing good reading to my reading buddies. I think that I need to improve my reading so I can read books higher then my level at the moment. I am also not doing my basic facts very well right now because I haven’t been getting 100% science the beginning of semester two. Since the beginning of semester two I think that I have been good at science because when I do my experiment I try to have fun with it and gather more questions to have more experiments.
